Comprehensive NDT Solutions for Industrial Material Integrity

1. Spark Test of Material

Spark Testing is a fast and effective qualitative method used to identify ferrous materials and verify material grades based on the spark pattern generated when the material is brought into contact with a grinding wheel. The color, length, shape, and burst pattern of the sparks are observed and compared with standard reference samples to identify variations in carbon and alloying elements like manganese, chromium, and nickel.

2. Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)

MPI is a non-destructive testing (NDT) method used to detect surface and near-surface defects in ferromagnetic materials. The component is magnetized using AC or DC current, and magnetic particles are applied. If a crack or lack of fusion is present, it creates a leakage magnetic field that attracts the particles, forming a visible indication.

3. Positive Material Identification (PMI) / XRF Testing

PMI using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) is a non-destructive analytical technique used to determine the chemical composition of metals and alloys. The analyzer emits X-rays onto the surface, causing elements to emit characteristic secondary X-rays which identify and quantify alloying elements such as chromium, nickel, and molybdenum.
